TRAPPED

I received her message after I got back from work
Her voice was faint and somewhat agitated
Meet me at the bar we need to talk
She assured me with a laugh that nothing was wrong

I changed clothes and I left a bit worried
At that moment I remembered my dilemma
Her stare frightened me at the other end of the bar
A false move would end this relationship

How could you have known?
I was always so careful
How could you have known?
My lies trapped me inside

I ordered you a beer but it was not as cold as your eyes
You asked where I was last night
As I got closer to you I though of what to say
I was with my friends all night

Suddenly you shouted, “She’s here”
I heard the steps behind me, “It can’t be”
She sat down next to me, it was she
Damn! How could you have known?
